PROJECT TITLE
PROJECT MISSION
Promoting inclusive education and lifelong learning for students and students with disabilities and special needs is one of the priority areas established by the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020. Furthermore, in the Bruges Communiqué, the European Commission suggests increasing opportunities for disadvantaged students in VET by offering alternative and innovative pathways, more work-based learning (WBL). Furthermore, the European Agency for the Development of Special Needs Education published a study on inclusive teaching skills in 2015, which requires the following main skills: valorising the diversity of students; support all students; work with others and continue professional development. These are skills that are in demand and are by far not reflected in professional training programmes. VET4ALL represents an answer to the problems mentioned above as it aims to achieve the following objectives: • train teachers and staff who work with the target group to make the WBL or internship experience more fruitful and aimed at future job placement also in a European context; • develop flexible pathways linking the formal VET school curriculum to WBL for students with disabilities/special needs; • promote the implementation of ECVTE principles and tools and develop an innovative approach to mobility in order to facilitate access for students with disabilities/special needs; • support trainers/mentors and company staff during the WBL/internship experience of students with disabilities/special needs.
