Turismo sostenibile – hospitality and destination management

Financed by the Lazio region through the European Social Fund, the professional training course was carried out by Hermes in June 2023. The course aimed to train young students in order to provide them the necessary skills to carry out one of the new professions highly sought after by the European market, the Destination Manager. The Destination Manager is the one who deals with the promotion and tourism relaunch of a given territory. The figure must optimize the use of the human and economic resources available in order to enhance the cultural, environmental, food and wine peculiarities that constitute the tourist attractiveness of the destination itself. The Destination Manager is a qualified figure who can operate independently as a tourism consultant, or can carry out his activity as a manager in public or private companies. The course, entitled SUSTAINABLE TOURISM – HOSPITALITY AND DESTINATION MANAGEMENT, was divided into 7 modules for a total of 250 hours of training and was structured into lectures and final project work. Below are the modules created: MODULE 1 • Living of tourism: the Malta study case MODULE 2 • Tourism planning and creation of responsible, sustainable and accessible tourism products MODULE 3 • Tourist destination management models MODULE 4 • Technical English in the tourism sector MODULE 5 • Financing channels for responsible and sustainable tourism MODULE 6 • Communication, events and digital innovation MODULE 7 • Final project work
